Diggerland USA

Whenever we have to inspect construction equipment, the machinery is usually parked. Every so often, however, I have to strap on the steel toed boots and don a hard hat to witness these beasts in action. Sometimes it’s easy to lose sight of the amount of hard work being done and think back to the Tonka pushing days of my youth.

For anyone who’s ever driven past a construction site and thought it looked like fun, Diggerland USA is set to open on June 14th in West Berlin, NJ. Covering 14 acres and featuring 23 attractions, this construction themed adventure park offer kids the chance to try their hand at some light excavation or go for a spin on the Dig-A-Round. Braver guests can hop aboard a customized hydraulic excavator labeled the Spin Dizzy or climb into the Sky Shuttle, a modified telehandler which lifts riders five stories into the air.

My idea of fun usually doesn’t involve digging in the mud, but the next time I’m in West Berlin, I’m going to give it a try. For more information, visit diggerlandusa.com
